Carlos Moreno reflected on the book’s impact and the ongoing evolution of leadership in education. Drawing from his upbringing in the Bronx and his work with Big Picture Learning, Moreno shared how the voices of young Black and Latino men have shaped his purpose-driven, equity-centered leadership philosophy. The conversation explored a human-centered leadership framework rooted in love, care, and adaptability—one that meets the demands of today’s fast-moving educational landscape and fosters meaningful transformation through connection and courage.
