RAM - The Working Memory of a Computer
RAM, or Random Access Memory, is an essential part of a computer that functions as its working memory. Just like our brains remember things while we're busy, RAM allows the computer to keep things while performing tasks. In the past, computers had limited RAM, like having a small desk with limited space. Nowadays, computers have much more RAM, at least 8GB, which is like having a big desk with lots of space. This increased RAM helps modern computers work faster and more efficiently.
Storage - From Floppy Disks to the Cloud
Storage is another important component of a computer, where files like photos and documents are kept. In the past, floppy disks, small plastic disks, were used to store a tiny amount of information, similar to using a small bag to carry digital files. However, technology has evolved, and now we have advanced storage options like the cloud, which serves as a secure online storage room for our digital files. Flash drives are like small digital bags that can hold much more information. Additionally, external hard drives are used for backups, although they may not always be compatible with other devices like tablets and smart TVs.
