Today I get the opportunity to sit down with Army’s Patrick Peterson to discuss the development of a high performance model. After a brief into of how he got to West Point, Patrick shares with us how his former positions have lead him down this path and laid the foundation of his research he’s looking into for his PhD. He then shares with us some of the limitations that they work around with the cadets at the academy with their physical preparation. This leads him into what he see’s when the athletes “go back into military mode” and what adjustments to their training are made to take better care of these unique athletes. We finish off discussing how to, as he refers to it, “pull the dogs back” and how the use of visuals helps the athletes and coaches understand the need to make some alterations.
