Matt Wenning is a powerlifting icon. Accumulating some of the biggest numbers in history as a geared and raw powerlifter. Matt exemplifies the three pillars of success as a barbell coach. 1-Education, he holds a Masters Degree from Ball State in Biomechanics and a Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science. 2-Longevity he has amassed world records with no major injuries while being successful in the sport starting as a teenager. 3-Performance that goes without saying. In 2011 he set the all time world record equipped squat at 1197.6 and in 2016 beat his previous raw squat record with an 865. He has pressed over 600 and continues lifting massive weights to this day. He has taken his talents outside of the powerlifting platform to work with tactical units, first responders and athletes to help them lead a healthy career avoiding injury. Matt is generous with his content supplying lifters with free content all the time on his social media pages. He was a gracious guest and it was one of the highlights of the show to have him on. His knowledge of training and performance really show. He has worked with the best coaches in the world while becoming a sought after coach himself. Matt is working hard to let the world know longevity is king and with the correct approach you can lift for a lifetime.
