'House of the Dragon' Season 1 Recap

Condal and Miguel Sapochnik (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miguel_Sapochnik) served as the showrunners (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Showrunner) for the first season. Based on parts of Martin's 2018 book Fire & Blood (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fire_%26_Blood_(novel)) , the series begins about 100 years after the  Seven Kingdoms (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westeros)  are united by the Targaryen conquest, nearly 200 years before the events of  Game of Thrones , and 172 years before the birth of  Daenerys Targaryen (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daenerys_Targaryen) . Featuring an  ensemble cast (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ensemble_cast) , the show portrays the events leading up to the decline of  House Targaryen (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_Targaryen) , a devastating  war of succession (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_of_succession)  known as the "Dance of the Dragons".
