Arguably the biggest story of the French Open so far was the surprise withdrawal of Elena Rybakina through illness just before her match against Sara Sorribes Tormo, which meant the Spaniard progressed to Round 4.

Iga Swiatek is also in the second week at Roland Garros for the fourth straight year, and did so with a 6-0 6-0 demolition of Wang Xinyu.

Meanwhile, Casper Ruud and Holger Rune also earned their places in the second week in Paris.
