"The Pilgrim and the Angel" by E. Lily Yu

A man named Farid is dragged on the Islamic pilgrimage of Hajj by the angel Gabriel, encountering various landscapes and magical events along the way. Farid is surprised to find his son on this journey and questions how he got there. They visit a grand mosque, have a heartfelt conversation, and reflect on the conflict between divine guidance and personal desires.
