Our children are not strangers to the covenant. The generational faith of Christianity is rooted in covenant, the most important truth revealed to us in redemptive history. As Peter says, the promises are always “to you and your children,” giving them ultimate meaning, hope, and purpose, and a faith they will never abandon.
