Picture this.

You're 21 years of age working in a call centre. Your job is to cold call prospects to sell them products from a fashion magazine. Everyday you’re verbally abused by angry people on the other end of your calls. 

The rejection you feel often leads to tears. 

As a result of this you become anxious. You get diagnosed with depression and put on medication.

Your toxic work environment, toxic relationship and constant rejection eventually tears down your spirit.

So you end up quitting and moving back to your hometown with your Mum. 

You feel like a complete failure. 

Your self-confidence is so low even McDonald’s are rejecting your job applications…

This is the dark place Poppy Owen found herself.

But Poppy was more resilient than she knew.

Afterall, she was raised by a hard-working single Mum in North Wales. Her Mum owned her own hair salon and worked two extra jobs to make ends meet. 

This work ethic and resilience rubbed off on Poppy. 

After coming through the darkest stage of Poppy’s life, she got her lucky break when she was given a marketing role within a recruiting agency. 

Around the same time she started doing makeup for her friends on weekends. Her mum said to her,

“Have you ever thought about doing this for clients?”

A seed was planted.

And Poppy’s first business venture as a makeup artist began.

Her skills were in such high demand she was booked out for months. Not being one to shy away from hard-work, she also started a marketing agency on the side. 

After getting a taste of being her own boss at 23, she quit her job and went full-time on her business ventures.

Her inbox started filling up with messages from women who wanted to know how to become a makeup artist. And that’s when she realised she had valuable knowledge that she could package up and sell to help others.

So she pivoted and became an educator. Teaching large groups of women how to become a makeup artist. Going from serving women ‘one to one’ to ‘one to many’. 

Experiencing the power of leverage. 

She went from working 60 hour weeks to 16 hour weeks and 4X-ing her income!

But during COVID, she couldn't operate her face-to face makeup education business because of the restrictions.

Poppy was pregnant with her first child and had all this extra time on her hands. 

Not being a woman who likes to keep still, Poppy used this opportunity to pivot online. 

She started running online masterclasses to 100+ women at a time teaching them how to do makeup. 

After getting a taste of the online business world she realised she wanted to be at home with her baby and just work from home. 

So in April 2021, she decided to go all in on online and become a business mentor. 

This led to her 4X-ing her income and impact once again!

Fast-forward to now and Poppy is living her Dream Life in Dubai with her family.

Not bad for a girl from a small town in North Wales who had a BIG dream.
