When you’re not in your ideal role, your job may look picture perfect from the outside, but internally you are likely struggling with what to do to find real career happiness. This can also be incredibly isolating, because it can be extremely hard to explain to others, even your loved ones, why your career is not satisfying. It’s also often hard to come to terms with the fact that it’s time for a career change, when you’ve worked hard to get to where you are and define your career. Reaching out to let someone know you’re not happy and ask for career help is the first step on the journey to finding your ideal career. Louise McNee shares the story of her reluctance to ask for help with career change, until she finally reached out to HTYC and landed a new, more fulfilling role.
