Google Cloud Implements Mandatory Multi-Factor Authentication

Google Cloud is set to require all customers to adopt multi-factor authentication (MFA) as a security measure starting early 2025. This phased implementation aims to enhance security given the context of numerous data breaches, with over 1 billion records stolen just this year. Initially, all users signing in with passwords will be prompted to activate MFA, which will include options like authenticator apps or physical security keys. By the end of 2025, this requirement will extend to users accessing resources through third-party authenticators, ensuring comprehensive security across the platform.
