Today’s guest is Adam Petway, currently the horizontal jumps coach at West Chester University of Pennsylvania. Adam was formerly the Director of Athletic Performance with the Washington Wizards, and Lead Biomechanist and Strength & Conditioning at the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA.
In this episode, Adam Ben shares his journey from being a high school S&C coach all the way through to the NBA, discussing some his published papers and how that influenced his decision making for programming considerations, the organisational and cultural differences in the two NBA teams, the bandwidth of movement from a biomechanist’s point of view, some of the protocols and tests used to access readiness within basketball athletes, training loads for younger vs older athletes and his new book “Basketball Mechanics” plus a lot more.
