Deep dives
Level one: Connecting to the universal good
Living at level one means connecting to the universal good, accessing the principles of God available to everyone. Even atheists and agnostics have a relationship with God, unknowingly experiencing his benefits through daily actions. The universe's principles work for all, demonstrating God's active engagement in everyone's life.
Level two: Becoming the adopted child
Moving to level two involves becoming the adopted child of God, accepting his unconditional love and invitation for a personal relationship. By embracing this relationship, individuals transition from mere universal principles to a deeper, personal connection with God as a son or daughter.
Level three: Embracing the heir apparent status
Transitioning to level three entails embracing the heir apparent status, where individuals access the full inheritance of God and step into the power and promises laid out in scriptures. This level requires spiritual maturity, moving beyond being a slave or just an adopted child to claim the fullness of being an heir.
Choosing spiritual growth and maturity
Choosing spiritual growth and maturity means taking responsibility for one's faith journey and actively pursuing a deeper connection with God. It involves moving beyond dependence on universal principles and progressing towards a mature, adult relationship with God, fulfilling one's role as an heir apparent.
This weekend, Pastor Erwin McManus brought new insights that challenged us to step into a new level of connection to God.
Speaking from the book of Galatians, he shared that there are 3 levels of connection to God:
1: The universal good
2: The adopted child
3: The heir apparent
We experience the universal good as we live our lives enjoying the blessings that God gives to all of humanity whether we believe in him or not. The adopted child has a relationship with God and experiences his grace, but the heir apparent has stepped into the maturity needed to inherit the life that God is longing to give them.
