An established military axiom amongst the rank & file is to "never volunteer". Similar to the enlisted, the larger collective is taught to keep their heads down, and do the time. Fact is, we all volunteer to do someone else's bidding, even if it comes at a horrific expense.
The American experiment was founded on "Voluntarism", that is, the Birth Right of every individual to Self-Determine. In other words, the concept of an Earthly authority above our Divine Rights is absurd, even through a more base mechanical lens.
