The Malmady Massacre Incident

During World War II, the Americans faced a brutal massacre carried out by the Nazi SS tank unit, resulting in the execution of American prisoners of war in Belgium. The incident saw unarmed American soldiers, who had surrendered after an ambush, lined up and brutally killed by the Germans. Despite some survivors managing to escape and recount the horrific events to the press, the post-war scenes of discovering frozen unburied bodies sparked national outrage and calls for justice.
