Episode 147: From Near-Death to New Beginnings

On this episode of Integrative Lyme Solutions, we're joined by Tara, who shares her personal experience with Lyme disease. Beginning in 2012 following a mosquito bite, Tara faced a slew of symptoms, including fatigue, pain, tremors, extreme exhaustion, and the inability to walk. Despite a positive Lyme test, doctors in her home state of Illinois refused to acknowledge Lyme as the source of her symptoms, putting her through ten strenuous years of misdiagnosis and inadequate treatment. Still dealing with occasional seizures and other symptoms, Tara spent years of her own time researching, finding treatments, and advocating for herself. Her journey inspired her to go back to school for talk therapy with the goal to provide support and understanding for others battling Lyme disease, she even wrote a book about her experience.
