After discovering ballet at age 13, she went from classes at the local Boys ​& Girls Club (an organization she is still deeply involved ​with ​today) to becoming the first African​ ​American principal dancer for the renowned American Ballet Theatre. We sat down with the world's most beloved prima ballerina to hear her story of personal discovery, of struggle, and how through it all, Mariah Carey will always be by her side.
