Be a guide to those who are lost

Epictetus teaches that when someone is struggling, rather than mocking or maligning them, we should aim to lead them towards the truth. Instead of making fun of their struggles, we should walk the path with them, providing guidance and support. It is important to stay humble and avoid pointing out their mistakes that may come across as mocking. It is easier to see someone else's issues because it is challenging for human beings to see the world from a perspective outside our own. By being a guide to others, we also acknowledge that we need our own guides at times when we are emotionally invested and unable to see our way.
