Iâm not climbing to the top of Mount Everest, but I am heading to Everest Base Camp... and beyond. Iâve just said yes (terrified, excited, slightly in denial) to climbing Lobuche Peak â a 6,119m Himalayan beast that sits above base camp in Nepal.
This was not on my radar. At all. It came via a text from an old uni friend (and podcast guest), Matt Stewart, who runs a company called Experiences Not Felt Possible. And true to the name, heâs invited me on an experience that feels... well, very not possible. Until now.
In todayâs ep, I talk through:
- Why I said yes before fully understanding what I said yes to đ«
- The real fears I have (spoiler: they include bathrooms, fixed ropes, and altitude)
- How I plan to train over the next 6 months as a total hiking newbie
