You may know Danny McBride for his roles in movies like Pineapple Express, Hot Rod and This Is the End, but over the last decade, the actor has made a name for himself as a co-creator for series like Eastbound & Down, Vice Principals, and now his very own show, The Righteous Gemstones. It’s a black comedy about a family of power hungry televangelists and their mega church. McBride spoke with Tom Power about the show’s latest season, the challenge of writing comedies and how watching his mom perform puppet sermons for their church inspired his career.
