S2 E1 | Owning Your Digital Identity w/ Our #1 Backer, Matt Gould!

For the very first episode of season 2 we are welcoming the 1st place winner of our crowdfund and holder of the coveted “Queen of the Pod” NFT, Matt Gould! Matt is the CEO and co-founder of Unstoppable Domains and he’s played an integral role in Diana’s web3 journey, so it’s very special for us to have him on the pod. 

Matt kicks off the episode by explaining his strategy for winning 1st place in our crowdfund and snagging this spot on the podcast. He talks about his background, how he initially got into web3, and how the idea for Unstoppable Domains first came to be. We then dive into the reasoning behind the decision to sell domains as opposed to renting them, and we touch on UD’s image as a web3-native company. 

Next, we get into the future of NFT domains and the role they play in digital identity. We discuss the nuances surrounding digital identity including on-chain vs. off chain data, data privacy, and verifiable credentials. 

Finally, we close out the episode looking to the future of web3, making some predictions about the current bear market, and taking a moment of appreciation for memes.
