Jesus' words in Mark 13 to his disciples offer a great reminder for those of us that find ourselves either distracted by the impressive things of this life, or distressed by the depressing things we experience. We are best equipped to live in the here and now, not by looking to these things, but by looking forward. Jesus helps us see that we shouldn't put our trust in what's temporary, nor should we tremble in the face of trouble; rather, we should turn our eyes to Jesus and stay tuned for His return.
