Ben & Rob reconnect with each other over ‘Past Lives’, Celine Song’s directorial debut starring Greta Lee, Teo Yoo and John Magaro. It’s distributor A24 are better known for their independent horror movies, but this foray into romance has been cleaning up at awards shows all over the planet as well as making a tidy profit for them. 

‘Past Lives’ tells the story of two kids separated by emigration to opposite sides of the planet, reconnecting as adults and questioning the role they play in each other’s lives. Weaving a beautiful tale of what-ifs and missed chances, ‘Past Lives’ is an almost impossibly well made film for a debut feature that keeps the audience engaged with delicate, subtle performances from it’s three leads.

Will Nora and Hae Sung come together in love after so many years apart? Are they best off leaving it as a penpal style friendship? And when will Nora’s slightly too accepting husband whip out the video recorder?
