Maya, based in Brooklyn, has a Masters degree in Clinical Nutrition from NYU where she is also an adjunct professor, is experienced in the community nutrition setting, and is the nutrition expert for Good Morning America. This episode is about how systemic racism impacts nutrition, representation of black women, and what it's like being the nutrition expert for GMA! In this episode we cover everything from starting out as a theater major and ending up as a registered dietitian to looking at nurition from a lens of cultural respect.
