Episode 5: with Romi Gaspirc; discussing security and risk in South Sudan and Iraq
Today we are joined by Romi Gaspirc, a security risk management advisor who will share her inspiring journey through the security sector. Today, Romi and I will discuss her own challenges and successes, as well as wider observations about the industry.
Romi grew up in Slovenia, ex-Yugoslavia, and acquired a MSc degree in environmental sciences in the Netherlands, with a focus on the Middle East water policy. After working in development and non-governmental sectors in developing countries, she transitioned into a humanitarian security in 2015. She has since worked in South Sudan, Kenya, Iraq, Yemen and North-East Syria. Recently she joined the corporate security sector and returned to Baghdad, Iraq.
