#6 Feeling lost? 3 creative approaches to discover your path
are you feeling lost in life, and not sure what direction you should go in? are you a multi-passionate person who has many talents and not sure what you should do next? then, this episode is for you!
Approach #1: You might have to break shit Make a list of all the crazy ideas that you have Little pop pop ideas on the page Growth isn’t linear. You just have to start trying stuff and then along the way, different pathways will break open. Give yourself permission to be messy.
Approach #2: Mastery What do you want to gain mastery over? Ask yourself, from a longevity perspective, what is something that you could imagine doing for a long time? This is not about your regular compensation. This is about – over the course of my career – what do I think I will still likely give a shit about in 5 years, 10 years. If you are doing it “just for the money” it will not work. All work is a grind, even if it’s your “dream job” it’s still going to have dark days. What is a skill that you can grow with? You know how they say the best marriages are ones where you can grow together? Same idea.
Approach #3: Trust Trust your inner creative The shadow is the seat of creativity is based on the concept of the shadow as a part of the unconscious mind that contains repressed parts of the self We hide the shadow; the judgemental, the aggressive, the spiteful, the vengeful, the jealous parts of ourselves. We want to be calm and likeable and sweet. The shadow is also the part of you that can’t lie. And what is creativity if not honesty? So we must honor the ideas that come from inside of us; they are a gift. You have to be in relationship with it. If you get an idea, but then you don’t do anything about it – it dies. It goes somewhere else to be born. It will stop trusting you. So you have to start building that trust and taking the risks.
