Teacher Talks: Part one of powerful explanations

This episode is this week's 'Teacher Talk': a fifteen minute talk that explores an important aspect of classroom practice, with practical strategies for implementing it in your classroom.

This talk explores what we can do to improve the quality of explanations in our classrooms. It explores why delivering powerful explanations is such a nuanced skill, before going on to look at three areas to focus on to improve how you deliver explanations:

1. The physicality of how you communicate
2. The confidence you have in your subject knowledge
3. Your understanding of the curse of knowledge.
