The 2023 Film Independent Spirit Awards were held last night, representing the best in independent film for 2022. After the show, I hopped on a Zoom call with Jonathan Fuji, aka. "The Film Drunk," Zoe Rose Bryant (who joins later) and, as per tradition, the NBP Film Community right after the show to talk about the winners and our thoughts on what any of this means for the Oscar race while voting is still going on.
