The Four Powers of Confidence
Compassion, lineage, awareness, and Windhorse are the four powers discussed to cultivate confidence. Compassion involves self-compassion and empathy towards oneself and others. Lineage emphasizes calling on the wisdom and support of those who came before us. Awareness shifts focus to observing with detachment and recognizing impermanence. Windhorse relates to rousing outward energy and recognizing and uplifting one's heart amidst challenges.

It involves visualizing offering support or healing light during challenging situations. Self-compassion is an essential component in navigating imposter syndrome and fostering a sense of agency.

Windhorse meditations focus on remembering the powerful and tender heart within and channeling outward energy to meet the world. It aims to uplift one's energy amidst turbulent times and renew a sense of inner vitality. Windhorse practice involves remembering one's heart and mustering strength to engage in compassionate, skillful action.
For the past 20+ years, Ethan has taught meditation and Buddhist psychology classes and workshops around New York City and North America and Europe, along with working with students privately. He has primarily studied in the Shambhala and other Tibetan traditions, but has also studied Theravadan and Soto Zen Buddhism. He is also an avid yoga practitioner.
