C.S. Lewis said, “Pride leads to every other vise: it is the complete anti-God state of mind.” We all struggle with pride. It is God’s mercy to rob us of it.
Pride whispers, “You don’t need God. You’re the king. You can fix yourself.” Sadly, pride robs us of joy, security, peace, and so much more. It is God’s heart to restore all that pride robs from us.
In Daniel 4, God teaches us about the issue of pride. King Nebuchadnezzar has a dream that reveals a problem he faces: pride. Because we each deal with pride, we each have a decision to make, just like Nebuchadnezzar. Turn to the one true God and follow Him or continue to follow ourselves.
The choice is ours.
