Listen To The Podcast: I was speaking at a conference. After my keynote, a woman approached me. She smiled and then asked, "So… do you think I should quit my job?" Click Here to Download It was the first question out of her mouth and it set me back. I think she picked up on my surprise but she continued. "You talk about going after your dream job and I've got a side business that I love. I'm just not sure I'll be able to pay the bills with it if I go full time. But with my day job, I don't really have enough time to devote to it. So, what do you think? Should I quit my current job to pursue my dream?" My response was quick. I simply said, "You need to figure out your LEAP NUMBER." She was a little puzzled but asked, "What's a Leap Number?" I explained that your 'Leap Number' is an equation I use to help people figure IF and WHEN they should quit their job to pursue a dream. I used it. In fact, my Leap Number helped me to decide when I should quit my safe-but-bad-fit job and pursue my own business full time. My Leap Number helped me to make the decision with confidence and to know the time was right! (And remember… I'm a recovering-worrier… so that REALLY helped!)
