This week Jim and Mac explore the concept of the 'Cave of Comfort' which is an element of this new story that we’ve been crafting around the Journey to Foot Freedom. The basic premise is that most people are essentially reading from the wrong map, which means that even despite a lot of investment of time, money and energy, they can’t effectively progress towards true foot freedom and tend to end up further down this metaphorical cave of comfort.

So throughout this episode we talk through the evolutionary basis of comfort and why we naturally tend to seek comfort, we discuss the importance of exposure to discomfort to promote resilience and growth as well as the value of having a community of people around you who are on the same journey and can either inspire and guide you or who can be inspired and guided by you.

We recorded this episode earlier in the year while we were out bush doing some filming - we had a rainy morning so we sat by the fire and recorded this conversation, so just to note that you will hear a bit of that white noise in the background, but the rest of the audio should be clear.
