1. Matt emphasized the importance of small business owners understanding and implementing their own SEO:

• Knowing what goes into SEO like keyword placements, 
• Content strategies, and technical aspects of SEO.
• For any business to thrive, they should be able to handle their own SEO. 
• Or at least have a basic grasp of its functioning. 

2. Matt gave an analogy of a website being a physical store:

• SEO is like building roads to that store making it easier for customers to find and access it.
• There's value of giving clients an understanding of elements such as title tags, meta description, headings, content styling.

3. Matt mentioned the benefits  of using platforms like Shopify for e-commerce:

• Shopify can handle large traffic.
• Shopify takes care of SEO aspects like SSL certificates.
• Matt feels that Wix and Squarespace are limited for SEO (they restrict access to crucial backend features).

4. Tips beyond basic SEO:

• Matt mentioned SEO tool Surfer SEO which aids in placing the right keywords at the right places in your content to ensure search engines find them.
• A crucial piece of advice from Matt was to get user feedback
