For too long, this natural shift that every person with a uterus and ovaries goes through has been seen as either sad, scary, or shameful–or something not even worth mentioning. When it’s something that every person with a uterus experiences, and for a lot of us, it’s like running a cosmic marathon on top of everything else in life.
People of all genders need to understand what perimenopause is all about so that women don’t have to be bewildered or embarrassed on their own anymore. It’s time to normalize perimenopause, and bring it into the light. (Wait til you hear its heinous history! So maddening.)
