On episode 40, I am joined by St. Paul's Wrestling Head Coach Matt Pinero. Last time he was on, we discussed his squad falling 5 points short of the coveted state championship. A year later, they battled through a pandemic and disappointment from last season to capture that championship. In just a few short years as head coach, Matt has captured a Coach of the Year Award, a Second Place Finish and now a State Championship. We discuss navigating a high school wrestling program through a pandemic. He also tells a story of the craziest thing he has every seen in coaching.
