Deep dives
Divide and Conquer
The Pharaoh, in order to maintain his dictatorship, deliberately created divisions between different groups in his country. He ensured that the Israelites and the original Egyptians hated each other and kept them apart. This tactic prevented them from standing together and standing up for their rights. The Pharaoh's policy of promoting hatred among different groups echoes in today's politics.
Turning Victims into Leaders
The Pharaoh made the Israelites into victims by slaughtering their boys while letting their women live. By doing so, he aimed to secure a future workforce of slaves. However, Allah's plan was to give these victimized Israelites a special favor. He intended to make them into leaders and inheritors, replacing the Pharaoh's kingdom. Despite their lack of experience and power, Allah promised stability and strength to the Israelites as future leaders.
