Flynn is a self-described dilettante, autodidact and occasional iconoclast, exploring physiology, psychology and philosophy through parkour & independent research.

Inspired by a slew of shadow-mentors from Eric Weinstein to Moshe Feldenkrais to Jiddu Krishnamurti, he is interested not only in the appreciation of ideas, but in their application.

A history of working with fear & anxiety in canines & humans (including himself) has opened a particular interest in embodied cognition, the feeling of safety and the nature of emotion.

The Online Exploration group is a culmination of his studies into uncertainty as a psychological constant, the consequences of developing awareness and the power of curiousity in learning. The group explores scientific principles from the ground up, creating teaching tools & seeking deep learning.

As a practitioner, he is interested in the interaction between mind & matter, the changing of perception through action and what emerges from embracing uncertainty.

In this rich and insightful conversation, Flynn dives into various ideas ranging from layers of sensory experience to the innate intelligence of humans.  He discusses how the key part of learning in not the information, but rather the state of the learner and their relationship with the information.  He also reflects on complexities surrounding the stories we tell ourselves.  And, he talks about the research of the Online Exploration Group.
