Galahad Clark is a seventh-generation member of the Quaker family that founded Clarks shoes in England in 1825. Despite being born into this established footwear legacy, Galahad decided to forge his own path by creating Vivobarefoot, a natural and minimal shoe company. Not one to take the easy road, Galahad recognized the need for a shift back to basics and took the opportunity to develop footwear that provides protection while allowing for natural motion and maximum sensory feedback. It was a slow start, but the barefoot shoe movement is growing as an increasing number of people discover the joys of foot freedom.
I sat down to chat with Galahad about his experience as the self-proclaimed “black sheep” of a family known for their shoe company.
