The Spine of Joel Colton's Poem
I like June because it brings together this sort of spoken word bravado that both of these poems have. And I think this may be possibly characteristic of Miles work to the extent that I'm familiar with their work. It draws this amazing contrast between the present and the absent, right? You realize it is a poetic line and a composed poetic line and therefore the poet is absent. So, and then nerves and snapping nerves. In both senses of the spine of his poem and his spine.
