What's the Best Way to Make a Language?

It's really easy as a matter of pure creativity to concoct some interesting structure or way of doing things. Mm-hmm sometimes sitting down and thinking through all of the implications of that can be a little bit harder. One of the great things about looking at real languages that do something similar to what you're doing is it gives you more depth in terms of how they handle cardinal directions, for example. Things like that are things that I wouldn't have really been thinking about right right so they can give you a little more depth and maybe new things to think about which you may or may not want but at least you know that that becomes a possibility.
