The Importance of Compromise

In verse 8, when Herod sees him, he's exceedingly glad he was desirous to see him for a long season because he's heard many things. So he questions Jesus in verse 9 in many words, but the Savior answered him nothing. I think this is the only person that Jesus doesn't talk to in the New Testament. He even talks to the demons. There's some irony here. If you know the right thing to do but are cowardly and don't want to do it, you are on the same road as Pilate. This compromise doesn't work. Nor does it work in my life or in yours.
