The Potential of Machine Classification in Archaeology for Teaching Students

i want to mention too that the potential of this technique for teaching students is huge. This was in the back of my mind when we were selecting artifacts to work with. I'm very aware of how well or how poorly, udents are able to internalize this typology. And so if we could come up with a way to machine classify this pottery in a more objective way, it might be a way to kind of circumvent what i see as a looming problem,. which is that we no longer have the kind of master apprentice learning systems that we used to have in archaeology.
