The Scope of the Commission

More than 600 people from across the right and left were interviewed. They included children's writer Michael Morepurgo, astronomer Royal Lord Rees,. School leaders Lucy Heller, Sally Coats, Tristram Hunt, Damon Buffini. And we asked Andrea Schleicher, the OECD to be our international advisor as well. So it was a really high powered, fascinating group of people. We decided to separate the commission into 10 areas of work streams - early years through to adult education. One of our recommendations is that there should be a 15 year strategy for education beyond politics above politics, above party politics, let's say.
