Is the Fed Expanding Too Much?

If we were in the pre-2007 world, then all the quantitative easing the Fed has done would by now have brought us hyperinflation or something. And so we have gotten into a situation where the total amount of reserve creation can be said to have become excessive. But if we were operating under the old system, the same amount of Federal Reserve Dollar creation that we've experienced in recent years would have led to far greater inflation.
