The 127 Provinces of the Persian Empire

The first verse says this is what happened during the time of Xerxes. Xerxes ruled over 127 provinces stretching from India to Kush. He was a really big deal with previously in all of human history, unmatched power. But he has some insecurity issues that manifest throughout the book of Esther and that manifest in extra biblical sources about him.
