The Importance of Planning Privilege
When a partner refuses to plan, but still wants to do things, they are probably taking advantage of what I call planning privilege. Planning privilege is when you just assume that if you don't plan things, someone else will do the heavy lifting and make it happen. The way we do it in our family is I definitely do more planning than my husband does, but he's always willing to plan with me.
