The History of Magic Mushrooms

The history of magic mushrooms and how they launched psychedelic renaissance. The story begins in 1937 when a Harvard undergraduate named Richard Schulte's was researching early accounts of plant use by the indigenous peoples of Mexico as recorded by the Spanish invaders. Although his focus was peyote, he stumbled across numerous references to the consumption of intoxicating mushrooms which were known as Tiona Nakato or flesh of the gods.
