The Generational Difference Between Transgender Studies and the Academy
Dylan: I think there was certainly a nascent field of trans studies in 2001 when I started my undergrad. When I went back to graduate school years later, I mean, absolutely, I, you know, in part went to study with Susan's writing. So I was very aware at that point that there was a field of trans Studies and really wanted to be a part of it. And so coming into the field with that notion of trying to think through an intellectual frame, but also through an embodied and activist frame about how we can sort of not just sort of build, but also more shouldn't address emergent political issues.
