Is the Church Infallible?

Conservative Anglican here says Jonah. Why would the Catholic church claim infallibility as opposed to inerrancy? I was under the understanding that it has to do with the way in which something's being communicated. So we can talk about a script being inerrant without error, but infallible means something different. And you wouldn't call the scriptures infallible, I don't think, or maybe you would, but you would mean inerrant and likewise.
