The Casual Buttress

An essay on the casual buttress was inspired by a photograph i found in an archive. I'd gone through the archives looking for a tetonic reasoning into architecture, but wasn't finding anything. And then i saw this amazing moment where a type, which can be coniformly connected to sight by a different thing - and that's when it really struck me. The idea of 'casual' is not something you learn from school or university...it just falls out of your mouth. So we shall try to unpack that essay as a way of maybe framing an interest that you'd established early on that is carried through to your practice and teaching to day. Yes. We will
